Odessa Massacre Remembered
Zakharchenko Addresses the Citizens of Odessa
on the Anniversary of the May 2nd Tragedy
Novorossiya Information Agency

May 2, 2015
Dear residents of Odessa!
Dear people of my beloved city!
I appeal to the families and friends of the innocent tortured patriots of this great city.
.
.
.
On 2 May 2014, a terrible tragedy occurred that wrote a black page in the annals of Odessa. A beautiful city with magnificent architecture, a gem of Russian culture, the birthplace of great musicians and writers, that’s what Odessa was up to that terrible day. Here, a year ago, a shadow of sorrow and sadness clouded this previously joyful and sunny city.
On that day, maddened Ukrainian politicians have gone on an unprecedented crime against their own people. Crowds brutal Nazis burned alive civilians, killing old people and teenagers, and mercilessly slaying women begging for mercy. The horror, the pain and the tears – that’s what I saw in Odessa, that is what turned it into a nightmare like Maidan. On that day, we, like everyone in Odessa, understood that the country called “Ukraine” no longer existed for us. It died along with the dozens of tortured victims in Odessa.
But I want to assure the families and loved ones of all those killed on the day of heroes – we will punish those bad people who harmed your relatives. Together with you, we will drive the fascist degenerates out of the city of Russian glory, and the world will come again for our common Motherland!
The head of the People’s Republic of Donetsk Alexander Zakharchenko
